


The 1st of Ramadan will be on MONDAY 1st August (InshaAllah). The first Taraweeh prayer will be on Sunday 31st July after Isha prayer (10:40pm)

Swansea Ramadan TimeTable 2011
Swansea Mosque Ramadan Activities:
Taraweeh Prayer: 20 rakah Taraweeh prayer will commence after the Isha prayer, followed by 3 rakah witr in congregation. There is also be a daily short reminder after the 12th rakah.
A second Taraweeh prayer will be held at 1:00am on weekdays and 1:30am during weekends.
Iftar: Swansea Mosque will God Willing provide iftar (the breaking of fast), followed by a meal after Magrib prayer. There is great reward in providing iftar to a fasting person and we encourage everyone to contribute towards the iftar program.
Itthekaf: Swansea Mosque will facilitate those who wish to take part in the itthekaf on the last 10 days of Ramadan.
Zakat-ul Fitr: Swansea Mosque will be collecting Zakatul fitr at the rate of £4:00 per person. You may also wish to donate directly to a charity of your choice. We remind everyone to donate early so that the funds can be given to those in need on the day of Eid or before.
12 hour live TV Fund-raising: Swansea Mosque will on Digital Channel S (Sky TV 814) on Tuesday 23rd August rasing money for Swansea's New Mosque Project.
How you can contribute towards these Ramadan programs?
Swansea Mosque is requesting that a donation of £50 per family is contributed to cover the cost of all the Ramadan Programs (Iftar, huffaz). Please make your donation at the mosque.
When breaking the fast - IFTAR
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَ ابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ، وَ ثَبَتَ الأجْرُ إنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
dhahabadh-dhama'u wab-tallatil 'urūūqi, wa thabatal arju inshaAllah
The thrist is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is confirmed, if Allah [Ta'ala] Wills

When beginning the fast - SAHOOR
وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ
Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan
I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan
